A Prefeitura de Belo Horizonte realizou uma reunião para discutir o planejamento e gestão do transporte metropolitano visando melhorar a qualidade para os usuários da cidade e da Região Metropolitana.
O encontro contou com a presença do prefeito Fuad Noman, técnicos da Prefeitura e representantes do governo estadual.
Como resultado das discussões, o governo mineiro irá elaborar um acordo para fortalecer as ações de planejamento e gestão de forma eficiente e estruturada.
Um dos temas abordados foi o Anel Rodoviário, com a intenção de garantir parte dos recursos destinados pelo Departamento Nacional de Infraestrutura de Transportes (DNIT) para obras de melhoria na região.
Além disso, foi apresentado o projeto do BRT Corredor Amazonas, que consiste em um sistema de transporte coletivo por ônibus com faixas exclusivas e melhorias em infraestrutura, como abrigos para pontos de ônibus e readequação de calçadas.
O sistema BRT Corredor Amazonas será financiado por um empréstimo de US$ 80 milhões do Banco Mundial, aprovado pelo Senado, e US$ 20 milhões provenientes da Prefeitura de Belo Horizonte.
