Nesta segunda-feira, 10 de junho, a cidade de Formiga enfrentou um dia complicado devido à greve dos motoristas da Viação Formiga, que paralisaram os serviços em protesto contra a falta de pagamento de salários e benefícios, como vale-alimentação.
A greve, que afetou trabalhadores e estudantes, foi motivada também pela exigência de reajuste salarial, pagamento do FGTS e melhores condições de trabalho. O presidente do sindicato, Expedito da Costa Guimarães, afirmou que os motoristas retornarão ao trabalho caso os salários sejam pagos.
A Viação Formiga, em nota, expressou surpresa com a paralisação, afirmando que estava em negociação com o sindicato e que uma nova reunião estava agendada para o dia 19 de junho. A empresa busca normalizar a operação o mais rápido possível.
Além disso, a Prefeitura de Formiga, que vinha subsidiando a Viação Formiga para reduzir a tarifa de ônibus e recuperar a frota, está agora impedida de realizar novos repasses devido ao descumprimento de acordos pela empresa. A administração municipal destacou que, sem os subsídios, a tarifa atual de R$ 3,90 poderia ser R$ 5,45.
