As obras de encabeçamento da ponte de Minas Novas, no Vale do Jequitinhonha, foram concluídas, colocando fim em uma espera de 20 anos da população da região.
A entrega faz parte das intervenções de infraestrutura viária do Contorno de Minas Novas, que contempla, além da finalização da ponte de 150m, um quilômetro de pavimentação do trecho que liga à BR-367.
Após duas décadas paralisada, a obra foi reiniciada em julho de 2023, por meio de um convênio com a prefeitura do município. Foram investidos cerca de R$ 3,18 milhões pelo Governo de Minas. É mais um trecho contemplado pelo Provias, maior pacote de obras rodoviárias dos últimos dez anos em Minas Gerais.
A ponte foi edificada em 2003, no entanto, por todos esses anos não foi possível utilizá-la, já que a estrutura não estava ligada à rodovia, o que a tornou conhecida por “levar nada a lugar nenhum”. O trecho é de responsabilidade do município e está localizado nas imediações do Rio Fanado, curso de água afluente da margem direita do rio Araçuaí e subafluente do Rio Jequitinhonha.
Importância das obras
O contorno de Minas Novas retira das ruas estreitas e íngremes do centro histórico do município o tráfego de veículos de carga, que tem causado enormes transtornos para população e condutores. As melhorias vão beneficiar diretamente uma população estimada em mais de 30 mil pessoas.
Minas Novas foi fundada em 1730 e a cidade ainda preserva a arquitetura do Período Colonial Brasileiro, com seus charmosos casarões históricos, nas belíssimas igrejas centenárias, ou mesmo no icônico prédio Sobradão, símbolo da arquitetura histórica local.
Mas há muitas outras riquezas, como o famoso artesanato em cerâmica, os variados eventos culturais e religiosos que acontecem ao longo do ano, a deliciosa gastronomia oriunda da mistura de seus povos.
Provias
Considerado o maior programa de recuperação rodoviária da última década, o Provias, do Governo de Minas, tem como objetivo reverter a situação precária em que se encontram muitas rodovias mineiras devido ao baixo investimento realizado por gestões anteriores na manutenção das estradas. O programa leva mais segurança e investimentos para o estado.
O programa conta com R$ 2,6 bilhões em investimentos, que estão sendo aplicados em 125 intervenções em rodovias de Norte a Sul do estado.
O Provias se divide em dois eixos: recuperação funcional, com objetivo de promover melhorias no pavimento das estradas em pior estado de conservação; e pavimentação e construção de pontes, com foco em viabilizar novas ligações entre importantes regiões de Minas Gerais.
O programa tem potencial de adicionar ao Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) mineiro o montante de R$ 1,3 bilhão e aumentar a arrecadação com impostos indiretos em cerca de R$ 225 milhões.
O valor total previsto do Provias é de R$ 4 bilhões, para a pavimentação de rodovias, pontes e recuperação funcional do pavimento. Até o momento foram viabilizados R$ 2,3 bilhões para execução das obras e efetivamente pagos R$ 1,1 bilhão pelos serviços realizados.
O Provias tem 124 obras, sendo que 56 já foram concluídas, 46 estão em execução e 22 devem ser iniciadas. Com os empreendimentos concluídos foram entregues 1.530 km e outros 1.559 quilômetros estão com as obras em andamento.
